The Wild Traveler employs exceptional, experienced, well-qualified trip leaders on every one of our trips. Each Wild Traveler trip is staffed with 2 to 3 trip leaders well prepared to take your teen on the adventure of a lifetime.

EXPERIENCE
Our trip leaders have a minimum of 5 years of trip leading experience, and they have in-depth knowledge in the places we lead. Our leaders have been hired to conduct staff trainings and staff workshops for other outdoor companies. Wild Traveler trip leaders lead programs for teens, families and school groups throughout the year and all over the world.
UNIVERSITY GRADUATES
Our trip leaders are college graduates and hold bachelor’s and master’s degrees in environmental education, outdoor recreation and related fields. Our trip leaders pursue continuing education opportunities to improve their leadership skills and further their knowledge of natural and human history.
POSITIVE ROLE MODELS
We employ some of the most experienced and enthusiastic trip leaders in the industry. Our trip leaders demonstrate confidence and leadership, possess excellent communication skills, and include all participants. Wild Traveler leaders are compassionate, empathetic, knowledgeable and well-rounded. Above all, our trip leaders encourage our participants to be their best.
INDIVIDUAL AND GROUP ATTENTION
Wild Traveler leaders focus on fostering constructive group dynamics; facilitating games, activities and initiatives; overseeing outfitted activities and ensuring that each participant in the group is able to safely achieve goals consistent with their abilities.
PROFESSIONAL INSTRUCTION
Our trip leaders have earned technical instructor certifications in a variety of outdoor activities including sea kayaking, snorkeling, rock climbing, skiing and snowboarding. Our trip leaders also hold their own certifications in SCUBA, freediving, kayaking, mountaineering and more.
WILDERNESS FIRST RESPONDERS / CPR CERTIFIED
Our trip leaders undergo an extensive 80+ hour Wilderness First Responder medical training course. All instructors also hold CPR/AED certification. Our leaders pay close attention to safety and have experience managing risk in outdoor settings with teenagers around the world.
WORLD TRAVELERS
When our leaders aren’t leading trips you can find them out on their own adventures. From rafting the Grand Canyon and SCUBA diving Southeast Asia to taking Italian language classes in Rome and exploring Mayan ruins in Central America, our trip leaders love to explore this amazing earth.
